Shanghai Marathon is an Abbott World Marathon Majors candidate race. Having passed the Abbott World Marathon Majors Evaluation Criteria in 2024 and 2025, pending accomplishing the final test in 2026, the Shanghai Marathon will become an Abbott World Marathon Major in 2027.

This flat fast course runs through the streets of Shanghai with soaring skylines.  You will enjoy wonderful views along the Huangpu River.  Shanghai is a fascinating city offering a stunning blend of old and new.  Visit ancient temples, colonial architecture, futuristic skyscrapers, enjoy world class cuisine and a vibrant street life.  Shanghai is one of Asia's most dynamic and unforgettable cities.
